Hello from beautiful Istanbul!
Recent months mark a massive milestone for me. I am thrilled to share some amazing news. I secured 3rd place in the Huawei ICT Competition! Specifically, I competed in the highly challenging Network Track.
I competed alongside two close friends from the university. We proudly used our team name, home.arpa. First, we knew we were signing up for a huge challenge. Therefore, we spent countless hours in the lab over the last few months. We configured routers and troubleshot complex network topologies. Furthermore, we dove deep into Datacom, Security and WLAN protocols.
The Huawei ICT Competition Experience in Istanbul
Being here in Turkey has been completely unforgettable. The energy today was electric.
The Network Track threw tough, high-pressure scenarios our way. During a recent online event we had to build a network. We managed to keep our cool. Few days later the news came — we won! In reward, we were invited to the Awards Ceremony in Istambul, Turkey — all fully organized by Huawei.
Yesterday, we visited Huawei’s Turkish HQ. I got the chance to see with my own eyes the newest, most impressive tech and get a grasp on the insides of the company. I wasn’t allowed to take pictures though.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Hearing “Team home.arpa” called to the podium at the ceremony was truly magical. It made every late-night study session worth it, since it justified every moment of frustration over a broken routing table.
I want to give a massive shoutout to my two brilliant teammates, Weronika and Mikołaj. We balanced each other’s strengths perfectly. Consequently, I couldn’t have asked for a better crew. I also want to thank our university professors for their constant guidance.
What’s Next After the Huawei ICT Competition?
This hands-on experience was entirely invaluable. Moreover, it tested our ability to work under strict time limits. In effect our team dynamic grew much stronger.
For now, it is time to celebrate. We will enjoy some incredible Turkish food. Later, we will take in the gorgeous views. Then, we will let this victory sink in before heading home. Thank you all for the support!
