Welcome back to the Bilu’s Garage blog!
I’m thrilled to share that I recently took part in the Ludum Dare 59 game jam. It was a fantastic experience, and our team created a really unique puzzle experience called Mission: Stop Transmission.
Crafting the Sounds of an Alien OS
I had the pleasure of handling all the music and sound design, as well as collaborating on the overall development for this project. To fit the distinct visual style and gameplay loop, I composed two separate audio tracks: a moody, atmospheric track for browsing the main desktop, and a more tense, engaging track for when you dive into the hacking minigames.
I also had a blast creating the UI sound effects to make the fake operating system feel authentic and tactile. This included designing the retro startup sound and the various system dialog blips and error noises you encounter while exploring the OS.
