A letter from the bank, a housing notice, or an employment application can be impossible to understand due to complex “legalese” and abstract grammar.
That is why our team at aetherLabs built CogniBridge.
CogniBridge is an AI-powered text simplification engine. Powered by Huawei’s MindSpore AI, it acts as a real-time translator between bureaucratic complexity and plain, accessible language. It is designed specifically for individuals with:
- Aphasia (post-stroke language impairment)
- Deep Dyslexia (severe reading and writing difficulties)
- Moderate Intellectual Disability
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (specifically those with communication barriers)
Project CogniBridge consists of two parts:
- The app: for personal use. Compatible with Android, iOS, HarmonyOS (ArkTS codebase). Soon on Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.
- The device: hardware tablet for institutions, works on Raspberry Pi (Python codebase).
